WORK is changing, around the world under the influence of powerful factors and technological, economic, demographic, societal changes.
In one form or another, these developments in all sectors of human activities: agriculture, industry, transport, services, trade, administration. Whatever their stages of development and their relative share of formal and informal economies, all countries are affected.
This established order carries opportunities for human development, but also for new social vulnerabilities. Beyond the diagnosis of socio-economic experts in labor, this meeting aims to « humanize » the profound consequences of such changes in such a structuring activity of « LIVING TOGETHER ».
Taking into consideration the ILO Centenary and its « Future of Work » initiative, this meeting will aim to find ethical convergences concerning values between Christian and Muslim cultures around the Mediterranean, which give dignity to workers, meaning to life and a place in society.
This meeting will discuss and make recommendations that will contribute to the ILO’s global approach, towards its Centenary in 2019, which also serves to the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially to « Decent Work for All ».
