The Future of Work: Promoting Good Work for the benefit of all

The Centre for Enterprise, Markets and Ethics: What is the future of work?

Traditionally work has been a protection against poverty and one of the essential cogs that makes the economy go round. However, things are changing. Irregular and part-time work, the ‘gig’ economy and the advent of new technologies m mean that we can no longer rely on past certainties. How do we balance flexibility and worker protection? How do we ensure that work not only pays, but is fulfilling. What is good work? In 2017 the government published a report by Matthew Taylor (the Taylor report on Good Work) to think about these issues. We are delighted that Matthew has agreed to speak on this subject.

When? 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM Tuesday 30th October 2018
