Message of the Holy Father to the Centenary International Labour Conference  

 

His Eminence Cardinal Peter Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, took the floor during the 108th Centenary Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) held in Geneva, Switzerland. 

Pope Francis, who was not present, had a message read by Cardinal Peter Turkson on Tuesday, 18th June 2019 in which he focuses on today’s interconnected and complex world and the need to highlight the importance of good, inclusive and decent work. The message concludes: “We need people and institutions that defend the dignity of workers, the dignity of everyone’s work, and the wellbeing of the earth, our common home!”.
